“...to find in her care some solace where mother nature will take care of me.”

A long time ago, in a forest a far...

Awen, my friend. I am Meghan, author and proud mother of four; Emry, Davis, Willow and Colter. I am a seeker of wisdom and whimsy, and witness to the beauty and power found in nature; gifts from the Creator’s own hand.

My love of herbalism developed organically in an effort to recover from acute pancreatitis in 2023 after delivering Colter, and again in 2026. The emergency room doctors dubbed it “idiopathic” meaning, they don’t know what is causing it. What I do know, is that pancreas and digestive compadres cannot tolerate alcohol, ultra processed food, foods high in sugar or saturated fat …and coffee (that last one hurt the most). After years of elimination diets, what changed my relationship to food for the better was compiling a list of “can eat” foods to counterbalance my growing list of “can’t eat, or proceed with caution” foods. This got me interested in going one step further and learning the benefits of the foods on my “can eat” list, which looks like a grocery list from the produce department. But- with a little salt, fat, acid and heat, that produce alchemizes into something all together more powerful and useful to the body.

Curating a compendium of knowledge on herbs, fruits and vegetables, their uses and benefits then incorporating them into recipes to nourish the body is no small undertaking. One small step on that journey, is to incorporate herbal teas into your daily routine. A tea after dinner is a wonderful way to unwind and digest your meal. Suffice it to say that for every ailment, there is a herb to help. If you steep said herb in hot water, add a drop of honey and a squeeze of lemon you will change your own life. Consistency is required so find a way to make it suit your taste; my niece hates hot drinks and so her medicine steeped, chilled and served on ice (try hibiscus tea cold!).

My journey from eating for entertainment to eating for nourishment has been painful, but fruitful in knowledge and I am excited about passing this knowledge on to the next generation through story telling. Much like hiding vegetables in pasta sauce, there are pearls of wisdom sown into the fabric of each story. In a world where the moral of the story has been dropped, Rosemary fairy hopes to bring love, kindness and natural wonder to young minds everywhere.

Much like Rosemary Fairy and her apprentice Poppy, the Rosemary Fairy stories are brought to you by a collaborative effort of women young and old(ish). The stories and their magic are the loving creation of Meghan Henneberry (author’s married name) and her daughter, Emry Henneberry who is the creative curator of online content.
